UK Road-Use Information
In Great Britain, an e-bike is treated as an electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC) only when it meets all current legal requirements, including:
Maximum assisted speed: 25 km/h
Motor rating: max. 250 W continuous
Assistance only whilst pedalling
No throttle mode (pedelec only)
The rider must be at least 14. Only a confirmed compliant configuration can be used as an EAPC without registration, tax or insurance. Check the supplied configuration and current GOV.UK rules before road use.
Maintenance & Care
Clean the frame and components with a soft, damp cloth after each ride.
Check tyre pressure weekly (recommended: 50–65 psi for 20-inch tyres).
Lubricate the chain every 100 km or monthly.
Inspect hydraulic brake lines for leaks or damage.
Charge the battery at room temperature (15–25 °C) when the charge level drops below 20%.
Store indoors and away from extreme temperatures or prolonged sunlight.
FAQ
Q: Can I use the boost function continuously?
A: The boost function is designed for short bursts (climbing, acceleration). Continuous use may reduce motor lifespan and battery range. We recommend using boost sparingly for optimal performance.
Q: Is the battery removable?
A: Yes. The battery slides out from the downtube for charging indoors or carrying separately.
Q: What is the maximum rider weight?
A: Maximum combined weight (rider + cargo): 120 kg.
Q: Can I ride in the rain?
A: The O20 Boost has an IPx4 rating and is splash-resistant. Avoid submerging the motor or battery, and dry components after wet rides.
Q: How often should I service the bike?
A: Annual professional servicing is recommended, especially for hydraulic brakes and motor bearings. Check chain and tyres monthly.
Q: Can I replace the battery?
A: Yes. Replacement batteries (48 V, 15 Ah) are available as optional accessories. Battery lifespan is typically 2–3 years with proper care.
Q: Is the frame warranty transferable?
A: The 2-year frame warranty applies to the original owner only and is non-transferable.
